Stuart Animal Hospital was  started by Dr. Robert Kuhn in 1953. Dr. Kuhn established a veterinary clinic in the small community of Stuart and became the first permanent veterinarian in Martin County. Since those early days, the animal hospital has moved three times and is now centrally located on the main highway US1. In 1986 Dr. Kuhn retired and Dr. Robert Katz purchased the practice. The Stuart Animal Hospital is a full service small animal hospital and we provide state of the art medical, surgical, and dental care. We are proud members of VIN, the veterinary information network on the internet. We can interact and consult with over 24,000 veterinarians world wide on a real-time basis for up to the minute diagnosis and treatments. We also board and bath your pets and are hurricane prepared with a 25KW propane backup generator.

The Stuart Animal Hospital is proud to offer a number of specialty services unique to most veterinary hospitals. We encompass and promote a holistic approach toward veterinary medicine and pet care. We compliment the mainstream care with traditional Chinese medicine, such as Chinese herbal medications, acupuncture, raw food nutritional counseling, and neutraceutical supplements.
